Sasakawa USA Program Assistant Brittney Washington outlines some of the challenges unique to women of color as they pursue careers in defense and foreign relations in a recent article for Ms. Magazine. Washington, who co-wrote the piece with Jeesue Lee, a former researcher at the Center for a New American Security, discusses the¬†importance of diversity and inclusion in the national security sector in “To Pluck a Brown Feathered Goose: On Being a Woman of Color in National Security.”
