Japan-Kentucky Collaboration: Developing the Bluegrass Workforce and Economy

On March 7, 2019, Sasakawa USA, the Consulate-General of Japan in Nashville, the World Affairs Council of Kentucky and Southern Indiana, and the World Affairs Councils of America co-sponsored “Japan-Kentucky Collaboration: Developing the Bluegrass Workforce and Economy.” This panel discussion, held at the Hyatt Regency Lexington, was presented in partnership with World Trade Center Kentucky and Japan-America Society of Kentucky.

Investing in Georgia’s Workforce: A U.S.-Japan Dialogue

On September 6, Sasakawa USA, the U.S. Department of State, the Consulate General of Japan in Atlanta, and the Georgia Institute of Technology co-hosted a luncheon panel discussion at Atlanta’s Historic Academy of Medicine to explore how Japanese and U.S. firms, state and local authorities, and educational institutions can work together to train and develop Georgia’s workforce. Panelists addressed Georgia’s future workforce needs, approaches to workforce development, and opportunities for stakeholder collaboration.

The Alliance Working in Oregon

From March 1 through March 2, 2018, Sasakawa USA led a delegation of foreign policy and trade experts to Portland, Oregon, to conduct the second installment in its The Alliance Working in America (TAWA) series. To highlight the depth and breadth of U.S.-Japan security, trade and cultural relations and how they are represented in Oregon, the delegation participated in a number of events in partnership with local organizations

From September 13-14, 2017, Sasakawa USA traveled to Houston, Texas with a group of foreign policy and energy experts to launch our newest series in the Education Program, The Alliance Working in America (TAWA). Through our inaugural TAWA Houston program, the delegation engaged local leaders, media, businesses and students on the importance of U.S.-Japan relations to American interests, both at the regional and national levels.
