I began to learn more about my position’s specific tasks over the following months. One of them stuck out to me in particular—I’d be participating in a sister cities delegation made up of 20 middle school students and five town chaperones to Camas, Washington, in October, less than two months after my arrival in Taki, Japan.

Lunch Discussion: Sister Cities: Seedbed for the Grassroots of U.S.-Japan Relations

Sasakawa USA hosted Grace Ruch Clegg, Former Projects and Outreach Coordinator at the East-West Center in Washington, to present on her upcoming paper, “Sister Cities: Seedbed for the Grassroots of U.S.-Japan Relations.” The luncheon was part of Sasakawa USA’s Alumni Program and moderated by Juliane Doscher, Executive Assistant to the CEO & Program Assistant at Sasakawa USA.
