The Evolution of American Perceptions on Japan through Film

The event, part of the National Cherry Blossom Festival, explored topics including stereotypes, propaganda, realism, war, globalization, and more.

Commemorating 70 Years of U.S.-Japan Relations Through Film

Sasakawa USA, in partnership with the Motion Picture Association of America, hosted a private clip reel screening and panel discussion in commemoration of 70 years of US-Japan relations through film. At the event, Japanese actor Ken Watanabe was announced as the first recipient of the Sasakawa USA Nichibei Award, which recognizes those who have led a positive role in growing US-Japan relations.
