Troy Robinson first joined Sasakawa USA in February 2019 as Program Assistant for the Japan-U.S. Military Program (JUMP), where he helped coordinate JUMP events and communications. In May of 2020 he was promoted to Associate Program Officer. Prior to joining Sasakawa USA, Robinson lived in Nagano, Japan, for three years where he worked as an Assistant Language Teacher through his participation on the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program.
Robinson graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Florida in 2014. He earned his BA in History and Political Science with a minor in Japanese. His honors thesis analyzed the foreign policy decision-making mechanisms of Imperial Japan and the role of the Privy Council in agenda setting. He also holds a MS in Foreign Service from Georgetown University with concentrations in Global Politics and Security and Asian Studies. He currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Georgetown Journal of Asian Affairs.
