Kenji Nagayoshi

Associate Program Officer

Kenji Nagayoshi joined Sasakawa Peace Foundation USA (Sasakawa USA) in January 2025 and serves as an associate program officer.

Prior to joining Sasakawa USA, Kenji worked as a Research Associate at Stimson Center’s Japan Program, where he conducted research on Japan’s defense policy, the U.S.-Japan alliance, and U.S. extended deterrence in the alliance. He has also interned at the Stimson Center as a Japan Security Policy Intern, as well as at the East-West Center in Washington, where he researched U.S.-Japan relations at government, local, and private levels for the 2023 publication of the Japan Matters for America/America Matters for Japan booklet.

He holds a master’s in international affairs with a concentration in global governance, politics, and security from the American University School of International Service and a bachelor’s in international relations and political science from the State University of New York College at Geneseo (SUNY Geneseo).
