Kaede Ishidate joined Sasakawa Peace Foundation USA (Sasakawa USA) in July 2023 and serves as a senior program officer. In her role, she has supported initiatives to integrate Women, Peace and Security (WPS) into the U.S.-Japan alliance. She has also developed programs that bridge experts in the U.S. and Japan on disaster preparedness and resilience.
Prior to joining Sasakawa USA, Kaede worked with International Student Conferences to facilitate the 74th Japan-America Student Conference (JASC) as Vice Chair of the American Executive Committee. She attributes the development of her program management skills and passion for people-to-people exchange and diplomacy to her experiences with this organization. She has also interned at Schmidt Futures and Primetals Technologies. Kaede received her B.A. in government and East Asian Studies from Harvard College.
