John Seymour joined Sasakawa USA in September 2020 as an Associate Program Officer. He provides support for the Japan-U.S. Military Program (JUMP), Policy Briefing Series, Japan Looking Ahead, A Vision for Post COVID-19 U.S.-Japan Relations, and the Sasakawa USA Security Forum. Prior to joining Sasakawa USA, John completed internships at the Center for Strategic and International Studies Japan Chair, Asia Pacific Initiative in Tokyo, Japan, and the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, NY.
John graduated summa cum laude from Georgetown University in 2015 with a B.A. in History and a minor in Theology as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Sigma Nu honor societies. He later returned to the Hilltop to pursue his graduate studies, earning an M.A. in Asian Studies from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in May 2020. John has also participated in Japanese language programs at Middlebury College, Nanzan University, and the Hokkaido International Foundation.
