John Seymour

Senior Program Officer

John Seymour joined Sasakawa Peace Foundation USA (Sasakawa USA) in September 2024 and serves as a senior program officer. In his role, he supports many of Sasakawa USA’s programs, including the Japan-U.S. Military Program (JUMP), the U.S.-Japan Regional Alliance Series, and Rising Indo-Pacific Security Experts (RISE), among others.

Prior to joining Sasakawa USA, John worked as a program officer at the Institute of International Education, where he helped manage the Fulbright Scholarship Program in the East Asia & Pacific region for U.S. students and scholars. He has also interned at the Center for Strategic and International Studies Japan Chair and Asia Pacific Initiative in Tokyo. John holds both a bachelor of arts in history and a master of arts in Asian studies from Georgetown University.
