Isabelle Burke joined Sasakawa USA in June 2021 and serves as a Program Assistant. She supports the Director of Programs with planning and executing programming for Sasakawa USA’s alumni network, including the annual In-Depth Alumni Trip, and facilitates collaboration with organizations like USJETAA to strengthen U.S.-Japan relations.
Prior to joining Sasakawa USA, she interned with the Education and Family Programs Department of the Japan Society of NYC. She developed her program management skills through her volunteer activities at the University of Virginia, which included coordinating English as a Second Language support for international students. She furthered her knowledge of U.S.-Japan relations and national security topics as a research intern at the Hudson Institute. Isabelle graduated with a BA in Public Policy and Japanese Language and Literature from the University of Virginia, where she was a student at the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy. She has also studied Japanese at the Hokkaido International Foundation in Hakodate, Hokkaido.
