Dustin Hinkley joined Sasakawa Peace Foundation USA (Sasakawa USA) as an associate program officer in May 2023 after working as an intern since June 2022. In his role, he conducts program coordination, grant management, and research support for the Japan US Military Program (JUMP) and the US-Japan NEXT Alliance Initiative.
Prior to joining Sasakawa USA, Dustin worked as an intern for the German Marshall Fund of the United States, the Stimson Center, the Japan Society of Boston, and Congressman Jim McGovern (D-MA). Hailing from Massachusetts, he has studied at Massachusetts Bay Community College, the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and the American University. His professional interests include programs and research related to the U.S.-Japan security alliance, U.S. policy in the Indo-Pacific region, defense strategy, and economic security.
At Sasakawa USA, he has helped execute activities in Washington DC, across the U.S., and in Japan including policy briefings, research delegations, political dialogues, and professional military education.
