Our Team

Chie Zuniga joined Sasakawa USA as an administrative assistant in January 2022. Zuniga is a native of Tokyo, Japan, where she worked in the business sector before focusing her career on U.S.-Japan relations in the areas of security and diplomacy.

Zuniga worked at the U.S. Army Japan headquarters, where she assisted senior military leaders from the U.S. and Japan with coordinating engagements, exercises, and community relations events to strengthen the bilateral relationship. She subsequently worked in the Political Section of the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo, where she organized events and coordinated meetings between diplomats from the U.S. Government and the Government of Japan. She became familiar with Sasakawa Peace Foundation’s mission and activities through her work at the U.S. Embassy.

Zuniga received an associate degree in English language from the Kanagawa Institute of Language and Culture Studies, and also studied Russian language at the U.S. Defense Language Institute, graduating from the Russian Basic Course.
