Promotion of Women’s Participation in the Medical Field

In January 2025, Drs. Misaki Kiguchi and Hiromi Yoshida’s U.S.-Japan Research Exchange study trip with Sasakawa USA culminated with an event at Juntendo University on the “Promotion of Women’s Participation in the Medical Field,” where they exchanged insights on challenges and opportunities in both Japan and the U.S. on women’s advancement in medicine.

After the Juntendo University event, Dr. Kiguchi, a board-certified vascular surgeon and chief of vascular surgery at MedStar Georgetown, and Dr. Yoshida, a pediatric emergency medicine (PEM) specialist and clinical associate professor at the University of Washington, were interviewed by Nippon TV about their takeaways from their U.S.-Japan Research Exchange study trip.
