In this video preview, Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) addresses panelists and audience members who will attend Sasakawa USA’s Securing Critical Resources in a New Green and Industrial Era conference on November 30, 2016. Since joining the Senate in 2002, Senator Murkowski has been a leader on the issue of critical resources as well as energy issues. She serves as Chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee as well as Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on the Interior and Environment.
The conference, co-sponsored by Sasakawa USA and the Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Center at Stanford University, will address the challenges, opportunities, and limitations of creating resilient supplies of critical materials. Although Murkowski cannot attend the event personally, she took the time to record this video message explaining Congressional efforts to improve mineral security in the United States.
Those who cannot attend this conference in-person are invited to listen in via a simultaneous video livestream. Please note the livestream will only be online during the duration of the conference from roughly roughly 8:45 a.m. to 3:35 p.m. PST on November 30, 2016. An archived video of the event will be made available to the public within a few days after the conference ends.
