Competition between Japan and South Korea: A Washington perspective

Sasakawa USA’s Daniel Bob spoke on competition between Japan and South Korea in relation to the two countries’ standing in the United States at the East Asia Foundation’s 44th seminar November 9 in Seoul.

Bob, the director of programs and a senior fellow at Sasakawa USA, spoke on the history of Washington’s relations with both countries after the Cold War, and how that history has shaped foreign policy throughout Asia.

The Hon. Sung-hwan Kim, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the R.O.K., moderated the talk.
