WASHINGTON, D.C — Throughout Ohio, the importance of Japan is striking, bringing in hundreds of millions of dollars to the economy. The state is home to 152 Japanese-owned firms that support 53,100 jobs. In 2013, exports to Japan brought in $1.5 billion to Ohio, while Japanese students contributed $11 million to the state’s economy.
