The Alliance Working in Washington: Impacts of the U.S.-Japan Relationship
On December 1, 2020, as part of The Alliance Working in America Series, Sasakawa USA held a virtual webinar in partnership with the World Affairs Council of Seattle and World Affairs Councils of America (WACA), featuring Dr. Michael Green, Vice President for Asia and Japan Chair, CSIS; Dr. Mireya Solís, Director of the Center for East Asia Policy Studies, Brookings; and Dr. Saori Katada, professor of political science and international relations, University of Southern California.
Developing the 21st Century Workforce: Utah-Japan Collaboration
Sasakawa USA will travel to Utah for its sixth installment of The Alliance Working in America (TAWA) program. Global Conversations MINNEAPOLIS: The U.S.-Japan Alliance in an Evolving Indo-Pacific
On September 18, 2019, as part of The Alliance Working in America Series, Sasakawa USA held a public forum discussion in Minneapolis, Minnesota, featuring Admiral Dennis Blair, Chairman of Sasakawa USA, and Dr. Satu Limaye, Vice President and Director, East-West Center in Washington. “The U.S.-Japan Alliance in an Evolving Indo-Pacific” event, a discussion and subsequent Q&A, was moderated by Elizabeth Brailsford, COO, World Affairs Councils of America.

Japan Matters for America: Japan Matters for Minnesota
On September 18, 2019, Dr. Satu Limaye, VP and Executive Director, East-West Center in Washington, spoke to a public audience in St. Paul, Minnesota, about the Japan-Minnesota relationship, and why the U.S.-Japan alliance matters for Minnesotans, through showcasing the East-West Center in Washington’s Japan Matters for America project.

Doing Business in Japan in Turbulent Times
On September 18, 2019, as part of The Alliance Working in America Series, Sasakawa USA held a panel discussion in Minneapolis, Minnesota, featuring Wendy Cutler as the keynote speaker. The event was in partnership with Global Minnesota, and was off-the-record except for the keynote address.

On April 2nd, Sasakawa USA held an insightful panel discussion highlighting U.S.-Japan leadership and collaboration in emerging technologies. After hearing from an esteemed panel of U.S. and Japanese speakers, attendees enjoyed a light reception for further festivity and networking.

Japan-Kentucky Collaboration: Developing the Bluegrass Workforce and Economy
On March 7, 2019, Sasakawa USA, the Consulate-General of Japan in Nashville, the World Affairs Council of Kentucky and Southern Indiana, and the World Affairs Councils of America co-sponsored “Japan-Kentucky Collaboration: Developing the Bluegrass Workforce and Economy.” This panel discussion, held at the Hyatt Regency Lexington, was presented in partnership with World Trade Center Kentucky and Japan-America Society of Kentucky.

The U.S.-Japan Alliance Working in Kentucky — Panel and Sake Tasting
On March 6, 2019, Sasakawa USA co-hosted a public panel discussion, “The U.S.-Japan Alliance Working in Kentucky,” with the World Affairs Council of Kentucky and Southern Indiana and the World Affairs Councils of America in partnership with the East-West Center in Washington and Japan-America Society of Kentucky. The panel, held in Louisville, Kentucky, examined important developments in today’s Japan with implications for U.S.-Japan relations, the depth and breadth of Japan-Kentucky ties, and the impact of Japanese business investments in Kentucky.
