Young Security Experts Meet with ADM Tomohisa Takei

On October 4, Sasakawa USA welcomed Admiral Tomohisa Takei (JMSDF, Ret.), who served as the 32nd Chief of Staff for the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, to discuss how global threats to liberal international order, specifically from Russia and China, will affect the future of Japanese and U.S. strategic planning. ADM Takei’s remarks were followed by an engaging discussion with attendees, which included emerging U.S.-Japan security experts along with honored guests visiting from Japan: Ambassador Masafumi Ishii (former Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia), Lieutenant General Takashi Motomatsu (Former Commanding General of the Western Army, Japan Ground Self-Defense Force), and Dr. Masahiro Kurosaki (Associate Professor and Director of the Study of Law, Security, & Military Operations at the National Defense Academy of Japan).
