Washington Kenkyu Group: Discussion with U.S. Association of Former Members of Congress (FMC)

On November 10, Washington Kenkyu Group welcomed the Hon. L.F. Payne (D-VA 1988-1997, President of FMC), the Hon. Peter Roskam (R-IL 2007-2019, Sustaining Member of FMC), and Mr. Pete Weichlein (CEO of FMC). The three speakers gave remarks on the outcome of the U.S. midterm elections and discussed the implications of these results for U.S. foreign policy, the domestic policy agenda, and each party’s strategy for the 2024 presidential election. Their remarks were followed by an engaging Q&A discussion with attending Japanese representatives from the private sector, media, think tanks, academia, and government.
