On September 27, 2012, Sasakawa USA welcomed Ms. Angela Ellard for a private, off-the-record discussion on the legislative obstacles facing the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
Angela Ellard is the Ways & Means Committee Chief Trade Counsel and Trade Subcommittee Staff Director in the U.S. House of Representatives. She advises Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI), Subcommittee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX), and the other Members on a variety of trade matters.
Specializing in negotiations and implementation of bilateral and regional free trade agreements, Ms. Ellard is also an expert on the operation of U.S. trade laws, trade promotion authority, antidumping and countervailing duty issues. Her work has helped to promote bilateral relationships with U.S. trading partners and World Trade Organization.
Before joining the Committee staff in 1995, Ms. Ellard was in private practice, specializing in international trade litigation and policy, including antidumping and countervailing duty proceedings and appeals on behalf of petitioners and respondents, other trade remedy proceedings and bilateral and multilateral agreements. Ms. Ellard graduated cum laude from Tulane Law School, where she was an associate editor of the Tulane Law Review. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Public Policy from Tulane University and she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, from Newcomb College of Tulane University.
