
Sasakawa USA’s Fifth Annual Security Forum took place at the Willard InterContinental in Washington, D.C. on May 2, 2018. This day-long conference brought together a range of experts from government, business, academia, and think tanks to discuss Asian security from the context of the U.S.-Japan alliance.
Topics covered included: North Korea’s diplomacy and its nuclear and missile programs, the results of Sasakawa USA’s recent U.S.-Japan-Korea trilateral table top exercise, Japan’s engagement with the regional and global security environment, Japan’s nuclear policy, the relationship between American and Japanese national defense policies, and U.S.-Japan cooperation in countering cyber threats.
