
Sasakawa USA partnered with the National Bureau of Asian Research for an important Capitol Hill briefing on maritime issues on May 24. This event featured a demonstration of the Maritime Awareness Project (MAP), a new digital tool to help congressional staffers and the general public track, monitor, and analyze current movements and declarations in the waters off the east coast of Asia, including the South China Sea.
The event included an overview of current maritime issues and their security implications and a demonstration of the interactive MAP. A general discussion and Q&A followed.
