On April 30, 2019, Sasakawa USA hosted Dani Charles, Co-Founder & CEO, Charles Bernard Ventures, for a private luncheon to present on his soon-to-be published paper on the strategic relationship between Japan and Israel as it relates to cyber, technology, and innovation, and how the United States might facilitate this Japan-Israel exchange. The luncheon was held as part of Sasakawa USA’s Alumni Program and the paper is a culmination of Charles’ research in Japan in November 2018 for Sasakawa USA’s In-Depth Alumni Research Trip. Charles is an alumnus of the 2017 Sasakawa USA Emerging Experts Delegation (SEED) program, which was held in partnership with the Center for a New American Security (CNAS).
Dr. Daniel Kliman, Senior Fellow, Asia-Pacific Security Program, CNAS, who led the 2017 SEED delegation, offered comments on Charles’ paper and facilitated the discussion with other participants.
Participants included experts and practitioners in cyber, technology, innovation, and the Japan-Israel relations in these spheres. They offered feedback on Charles’ paper ahead of its publication on the Sasakawa USA website soon.
