On Monday, August 10, the Japan Society of San Diego and Tijuana coordinated with Sasakawa USA to hold “JUMP – Japanese Community Night at Petco Park” at the San Diego Padres game. The event brought together service men and women who have been stationed in Japan and who want to connect and talk about their experiences living there. The event included a ticket to the baseball game, a pre-game gathering at Petco Park auditorium and an all-you-can-consume barbecue in a private rooftop area. Members of the TOMODACHI Initiative Youth Baseball Exchange from Ofunato, Japan and San Diego also attended to personally experience the importance of the US-Japan relationship.
