Japan’s Grand Strategy

March 10, 2009 @ 4:00 am - 6:00 pm

March 10, 2009, Sasakawa USA hosted a program focusing on Japan’s Grand Strategy.  The need for a vision that would help it to navigate the difficulties that it might face over the coming decades. In developing such a strategy, Japan would need to focus on its traditional strengths—it’s ability to adapt to changing circumstances in a well-calculated manner with a steadfast commitment to self strengthening— while embracing changing global ideas and forces. This seminar comes out of a U.S.-Japan Foundation-funded project on this topic.
