Cybersecurity: Corporate Decision-Making to Prepare a Trusted Global Supply Chain

Sasakawa USA and Keio University will co-host a symposium on cybersecurity March 28-30 at Keio University, Mita Campus, in Tokyo. “Cybersecurity: Corporate Decision-Making to Prepare a Trusted Global Supply Chain” will explore developments in corporate efforts to manage cybersecurity risk in global supply chains.

Symposium sessions will focus on executive education, training, and deep research progress of the InterNational Cyber Security Center of Excellence (INCS-CoE). Sessions will also include discussions of innovative technology and policy developments from around the world. INCS-CoE was established in 2016 by Keio University and collaborating members from American, British, and other Japanese universities to advance international collaborations addressing borderless cyber-threats.

As a pre-event on March 28, a Table Top Exercise (TTX) will simulate the impact of a cyber-attack within the supply chain of a large multinational corporation, and will include Internet of Things issues. Teams comprised of representatives of companies including Chief Information Security Officers, business decision-makers, and technologists will analyze and respond to a series of events. Players will learn how to respond both publicly and technically to an ongoing incident, how to collaborate with partners in shaping a response, and how to plan for such incidents in order to respond quickly and effectively if one occurs.

In morning plenary sessions, results from the TTX pre-event will be shared. In addition, leaders from government, industry, and academia from the U.S., U.K., Japan, Israel, and India are expected to announce global collaborations. Parallel sessions will be held for the second half of each day, dedicated to more in-depth workshops on a range of topics from international exercises, the deep research items shared by the INCS-CoE partners and the best practices from a cross section of industries.
