Can the DPJ Revive Japan’s Economy?

October 27, 2009 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

$25

October 27, 2009, Sasakawa USA hosted a lunch focusing on “What changes will the new DPJ Government bring to Japan’s economic policies, and how do its views on Japanese growth and economic equity differ from the past five decades of LDP rule?”

Richard Katz, the Editor in Chief of The Oriental Economist (www.orientaleconomist.com) and one of America’s leading economic specialists on Japan, addressed the economic and business impact of the DPJ victory. Up until now, most American commentary on the new Japanese Government has focused on the DPJ’s views on foreign policy and defense issues.

Mr. Katz is the author of Japanese Phoenix: The Long Road to Economic Revival (2002) and Japan, the System That Soured : The Rise and Fall of the Japanese Economic Miracle (1998).
