On September 9, 2014, Sasakawa USA welcomed Ms. Keiko Iizuka for a private, off-the-record discussion on the overall outlook and challenges of the Abe administration’s September 3rd Cabinet reshuffle.

About the Speaker

Ms. Keiko Ms. Keiko IzukaIizuka is the Washington Bureau Chief of the Yomiuri Shimbun, one of Japan’s leading daily newspapers. She assumed her current position after serving as Yomiuri’s Senior Political Writer, Deputy Political Editor, Chief Correspondent at Japan’s Prime Minister’s Office, and Editorial Writer. She has also served as a correspondent in Okinawa and London. In 2008-2009, she was Visiting Fellow at The Brookings Institution. Ms. Iizuka earned her bachelor’s degree from Sophia University in Tokyo, and her master’s degree in international security from Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in Medford, Massachusetts.
